The Frog Who Burst with Pride – Panchatantra for Kids

Once upon a time, in a deep forest, there was a very big pond. A huge frog named Bhimkaya lived in that pond. He had two children — one was named Bholu and the other was Golu.

One day, both the children were walking near the pond when they saw a bull. Golu and Bholu had never seen a bull before. They were surprised to see such a big animal.

When they reached home, Golu said to Bhimkaya, “Father, today we saw a huge creature!”

Bholu added, “Yes, Father! He was much bigger and stronger than you.”

Golu said, “But he was very big!”

Bhimkaya puffed up his body and asked, “Was he this big?”

The children said, “No, no… he was bigger!”

Bhimkaya puffed himself up even more. “This big?”

The children replied, “No, even bigger!”

Bhimkaya didn’t know they were talking about a bull. Lost in his pride, he kept puffing himself bigger and bigger. Finally, he crossed the limit. When he tried to puff up one last time… he burst like a balloon. And that was the end of him.

Moral of the Story

Never compare yourself to others.

Decisions made in arrogance always bring harm.
